There are two levels of WSA membership, although the annual subscription is the same for both at £26.00 for the year or £13 for new members joining on or after 1st July.
Associate membership is open to all on payment of the annual subscription.
Full membership is granted to those whose work meets the Society's high standard – all Associate Members have an opportunity to become Full Members via an annual selection process that takes place on the first Saturday of February. They are invited to submit three examples of their work to a selection panel of professional artists. If all three paintings meet the standard, the Associate will become a Full Member. Naturally, all applicants are informed of the outcome and, for those not granted full membership, constructive criticism is provided in the hope that they will try again the following year.
All artists, who have been a member of the society for at least 12 months prior to the exhibition date, are able to exhibit their work at the Society's spring and autumn exhibitions at Woking's prestigious Lightbox. All members can also exhibit their work at the outdoor exhibitions held in Woking town centre in June and September.
Please note: Members under the age of 25 and in full time education may be entitled to a discounted subscription, as determined by the WSA Committee.
To join the Society, either come along to one of our meetings at The Vyne or download and complete the application form from this page.
Send it, along with your cheque for £26.00 (or £13 after 1st July) to our membership secretary: Sue Hinton, Rangewell, 5 Pirbright Road, Normandy, Guildford GU3 2AG.
